Park Street Lofts was an exciting project that allowed Random Orbit to fulfill a number of its development ideals:

* To create Live/Work housing-a new housing type in Maine. This project allowed Random Orbit to further explore the advantages of live/work condominiums. There is an economic advantage by combining living and work costs. The simple open floor plan offers a creative advantage that allows flexible and interesting use of space. This type of development fosters community in the building that can have a great positive impact on the “creative economy” and livability of Saco.
* Adaptive redevelopment of an historic building. This is a fine old heavy timber framed building that had an industrial use right up to the start of this project. Converting the building to live/work lofts gave the property a conforming use while retaining much of it’s interesting industrial vernacular.
* Urban center infill. Park Street Lofts is in the urban core of Saco. Main St. and city services are within walking distance. It is a part of the historic and cultural fabric of the city.
