Maintenance I – Landscaping (Part-time)

JOB SUMMARY

Our Maintenance 1 (PT4) positions are generally responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks, including landscape maintenance, pruning, cleaning, general repairs, painting, and seasonal duties. This position will have an emphasis on Landscape maintenance along with other duties as assigned.

• Completes landscaping activities (mowing, raking, planting, urban forestry, chipping, etc.)
• Needs to be familiar with heavy equipment operation
• Maintains playground surfacing / Removes garbage and disposes of properly
• Performs all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, ice rink maintenance, etc.)
• Performs set-up and tear-down for programs and special events
• Maintains all tools, equipment, and machinery as necessary
• Inspects park furnishings and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, picnic tables, bleachers, grills, benches, backstops, etc.). Identifies and repairs / reports any failures or hazards
• Snow removal
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years old with High school diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) - three (3) years of relevant experience. Valid Illinois driver’s license a must. Must be able to obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification upon hire.

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a year-round position, working approximately 32 hours per week. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Target hiring range is $15-17/ hour depending on qualifications and experience.
