Job description

We are a small veterinary office in Poway looking for someone full time for a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist job. Duties will include answering phones, admitting/discharging patients, assisting in exam rooms, call backs and cleaning throughout and at the end of the day. Good communication skills, customer service, and a friendly disposition are a must. On the job training will be provided for other aspects of employment. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds comfortably by yourself. We are a two doctor practice that sees dogs and cats for routine exams and vaccines as well as for dentals and other surgical procedures.

This is an entry level position and does not require any experience, but any prior experience is welcome.

Basic computer skills, legible handwriting and spelling are required, compensation will be based on experience and ability.

We do offer health insurance and after a probationary period there is a scrub allowance, paid vacation days, and sick days.

Hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9a-6p, and every Saturday from 8a-3p. We need someone that can be flexible with their hours-sometimes we need to stay late or come in early due to appointments or other tasks that need to be done.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
