If so, Clermont County is seeking full time Social Service Worker 2 within the Department of Job and Family Services, Division of Children’s Protective Services. (More than 1 position may be filled)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)
Probationary Period: 180 Days
Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications/experience; pay range 7- (minimum hourly $16.11)

JOB DUTIES:
Receive Adult Protective Services complaint calls and complaints of child abuse, neglect and dependency and other child service referrals. Screens for information and referral and provides limited referral services. Initiates data collection and entry for the SACWIS computer system. Refers complaints to unit supervisors for assessment of investigations. Researches files for past agency involvement on complaints received and/or maintains a log of incoming complaints of child abuse/neglect pursuant to administrative rule and compiles data for statistical reports not generated by SACWIS. Researches SACWIS for the purpose of agency home studies, Juvenile Court requests, and/or other Public Children Service Agencies. Works alone or with other persons in short or long-term team projects to resolve problems or conflicts in any area of county operations or to complete assigned projects at the direction of any county supervisor or Department Head when assigned. Works aggressively to reduce or eliminate safety/risk concerns in current position or work location. Reports safety/risk management issues to immediate supervisor. New and other related duties as assigned. As operational needs arise, may be required to assume additional duties of position within same classification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of coursework for Associate Degree in social work or in a comprehensive program with virtually all courses being taken in social work. Knowledge of public relations, case management, psychology or human behavior, sociology, agency and community counseling programs, federal and state regulations governing delivery of services, safety policy and procedures, government structure and process, counseling and interviewing. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, apply principles to solve practical everyday problems dealing with variety of variables, recognize threatening or unusual conditions and take appropriate emergency action. Ability to develop format for counseling sessions, develop good rapport with clients, prepare and maintain case notes, work alone on most tasks, prepare and deliver speeches, cooperate with coworkers, gather and collate information, handle sensitive inquiries from officials and general public and complete routine forms.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirements stated above. Military education and experience may be substituted for college and vocational certificate level course work on a case-by-case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations. For consideration please include a military transcript and/or Form DD214 with your application. Conditions and procedures for selection will be consistent with Clermont County Personnel Policy and/or Collective Bargaining Agreements, if applicable. Also, certain classifications, because of the nature of the work, require pre-placement and/or periodic physical examinations which may include drug/alcohol screening tests. Employment in a position with Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services is contingent upon successful completion and favorable adjudication of a criminal background check conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
