Job description

Lehigh Valley Plastics is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to manage all functions and staff related to the shipping department.

Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance of operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Confers with other departments to coordinate activities with functions such as sales, production, purchasing, quality, etc.

Checks shipments for accurate items and counts, corrects labeling and hazardous material warnings, and proper packaging.

Reviews and sets up freight rates; dispatches and directs ground deliveries.

Resolves customer service issues.

Resolves missing or damaged freight issues.

Records amounts of items received and shipped through Visual.

Prepares parcels for mailings, UPS, Fed Ex and freight shipments

Maintains housekeeping of shipping department and orderliness of shelves.

Manages employees in Shipping.

Requirements:

• Understands all aspects of warehousing, distribution and shipping processes.
• Experience managing multiple individuals in a warehouse or production environment.
• Must have experience using Excel, Outlook and other general business computer programs.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
