SUMMARY

Performs a broad range of planning and analysis. Monitors actual results of financial data against plans, forecasts, and budgets, determines trends, and explains financial results. Prepares detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management. Consolidates a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of short-term and long-term business plans. Represents the organization in meetings with outside organizations.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required.

Work experience:

10+ years' experience in: Experience in financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, cost accounting or cost reporting. Experience in healthcare industry, government programs, healthcare compliance programs, or related fields. Experience with HSCRC reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews monthly state and federal regulatory reports, including but not limited to the monthly and quarterly HSCRC reports and reconciliations.
  • Reviews monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and statistical reports for accuracy, reasonableness, completeness and distributes them to appropriate management.
  • Assists with code and price changes in the Charge Master.
  • Assists in responding to internal and external requests for information and special projects.
  • Assists in audit projects and financial surveys.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual revenue budget.
  • Assists in the development of analytical models to identify opportunities for reimbursement maximization.
  • Accumulates and assembles the necessary information to support and assist in the completion of the annual Medicare Care Report and the HSCRC Annual Filing.
  • Interacts with General Accounting in the problem identification and solution process, including responsibility for components of the monthly close process.
  • Leads projects within a broader project or may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.
  • Prepares and monitors departmental expense budgets.
  • Participates in the preparation of the JHHS Community Benefit Reports.
  • Participates in various MHA and HSCRC committees and work groups representing JHHS.

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Must be experienced and advanced with Word, PowerPoint, Excel SAP, EPIC and related software applications
  • Excellent oral and written communications; able to communicate and make presentation to all levels of management and associates at all levels throughout the Company; must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
  • Ability to read and interpret healthcare laws, regulations and policies
  • Knowledge of organization and operations of the business areas being supported.
  • An understanding of legal requirements and expectations for healthcare operations.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Knowledge of finance, operations, logistics, statistical and simulation modeling, administrative theory, and process improvement.
  • Proven ability to utilize and coordinate efforts of the internal team, resources and vendors, setting and communicating realistic deadlines and overseeing execution for completeness and accuracy.
