We are hiring IMMEDIATELY for a Medical Assistant to join one of our community mental health providers!

SUMMARY: Responsible for services relating to care of clients in outpatient, residential setting.

HIGHLIGHTS OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare/administer/document dictations within outpatient setting
  • Meds verified 3x prior to administration, label, document required by federal/state legislation, and matches order
  • Observe client taking meds; never leave unattended or meds left with client
  • Document meds administered Medication Administration Record (MAR)/when med is not taken/refused, noting reason
  • Document cause of prn meds, regularly scheduled meds; report unusual symptoms to supervisor. Complete incident report for adverse meds reactions/errors
  • Record vital signs before, during/after administration of meds
  • Knowledge of terms, abbreviations/symbols related to meds/administration
  • Store meds/maintain security with current federal/state regulations
  • Adhere to state/federal, facility rules pertaining to maintenance/disposal of meds
  • Observe client/residents’ rights related to medication administration
  • Room clients, take vitals, and track BMI

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/equivalent.
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Program, or comparable medical office experience and training.
  • Prefer one-year experience working with serious substance abused population.
  • Combination of ducation/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.
