What You’ll Do
The L & D Manager is responsible for the learning and professional development of Ascenters and Jetters at individual contributor level and above. The L & D Manager works closely with all business leaders and management, the Human Capital, and Ascent U team to ensure that training and education programs are designed and offered in full alignment with the objectives and requirements of the organization.
- Leads, coaches, and develops a small team of L&D Specialists.
- Maintains and further develops Ascent’s learning and development strategy.
- Designs and delivers appropriate education classes to support the company's mission, goals, and business strategies.
- Works with management in delivering core leadership and professional development programs including advanced leader training modules.
- Develops and delivers customized teambuilding events and workshops. Establishes evaluations, testing, and measurement procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of education programs.
- Conducts thorough needs assessments and survey initiatives to identify learning and development opportunities
- Keeps abreast of emerging external certifications; researches and recommends relevant new programs that will support key learning objectives.
- Develops and facilitates train-the-trainer programs to support the effective delivery of HC-related training programs such as diversity, harassment prevention, and culture.
- Develops conceptual content for teaching aids, such as participant manuals, visual aids, and reference materials and works with L&D (Training) Coordinator on production.
- Performs regular quality audits to determine effectiveness of education material, methods of training and identify other potential areas of need.
- Engages and supports in the annual Talent review process and develops tailored development and education topics based on individual results.
- Additional job responsibilities, as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in business, education, HC, or related discipline and three (3) years of experience in content development, program development and facilitation.
- Certifications in delivering vendor assessments and programs (e.g., Stephen Covey, DDI or other) is preferred.
- Must have expertise in adult learning principles, learning styles, and experiential learning techniques and the ability to define learning goals and objectives; strong verbal communication skills and exceptional writing skills are required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software programs and comfortable with the operation of audiovisual equipment to support presentation and facilitation.
- Must be prepared to handle both in-person as well as virtual facilitation
