Magna-Power Electronics, a Flemington, New Jersey based electronics manufacturer, is seeking a full-time Fall / Spring Computer Science Co-Op to work on our many code bases. Magna-Power is a vertically integrated manufacturer, who makes sophisticated electronic products, under guidance of software directed workflows. With +10k product combination of our units, custom software is needed to: manage materials, schedule construction, automate manufacturing and processes; build, flash, and validate firmware; test and exercise function on both software and hardware products. In addition to internal support software, Magna-Power develops customer-facing software: website with real-time quoting, emulators that make our dc power supplies emulate solar panels, GUIs for diagnostics, firmware updates, and control. Co-Ops work under the guidance of seasoned programmers and engineers and every line of code will be carefully reviewed before release to manufacturing. Co-Ops are usually given one large project and asked to help support side projects in parallel. Specific duties and skills include:

• Passion to learn and solve problems
• High proficiency in either Python or JavaScript
• Familiarity with SQL, especially PostgreSQL, SQLite
• Familiarity with modern development and collaboration tools (SVN, GIT, Issue Tracking, etc.)
• Familiar with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
• Experience working with computer communication (TCP/IP, Serial, etc.)
• Ability to learn new tools, frameworks and languages
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal and written skills
