As an Electro/Mechanical Design Specialist in the Applications Engineering group, you will utilize your expertise to help design, develop, and document new product variations per our standard design practices. Other functions performed by our team include providing technical support to the sales organization for quotations, after sales support for MD/Totco product lines, and sustaining. Our customers include oil and gas industry service companies, operators, and contractors, as well as internal NOV customers across the globe.
Job Summary:
M/D Totco is seeking a self-motivated Electro/Mechanical Design Specialist to be a member of our Applications Engineering team. The primary mission of the M/D Totco Applications Engineering department is to work with our internal and external customers to adapt existing M/D Totco product lines to fulfill customer specific sales order requirements. As an Electro/Mechanical Design Specialist in the Applications Engineering group, you will utilize your expertise to help design, develop, and document new product variations per our standard design practices. Other functions performed by our team include providing technical support to the sales organization for quotations, after sales support for MD/Totco product lines, and sustaining. Our customers include oil and gas industry service companies, operators, and contractors, as well as internal NOV customers across the globe.
The M/D Totco product line is extensive in its scope, technology, application, and chronology; thereby exposing the Electro/Mechanical Design Specialist to a wide variety of problems and opportunities. This results in working with a wide range of product lines which will rapidly build expertise and value to the company. In addition, this position requires extensive interaction with personnel in all aspects of the business, from suppliers through customers, which keeps the position interesting and challenging.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create field wiring schematics for data acquisition systems
- Create proposal block diagrams to support sales quotation efforts
- Document electrical and mechanical parts into our engineering document control system
- Perform sustaining engineering tasks including obsolescence workflows, documentation updates and manufacturing information updates
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associates degree in Electrical Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Mechanical design experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in AutoCAD (experience with Pro-E or Solidworks a plus)
- Experience with product lifecycle management systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Conversant with electrical design for hazardous areas
- Familiarity with domestic and international electrical design codes
- Fundamental leadership characteristics
- Customer oriented, detail focused, with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to grow and learn will be considered in lieu of experience
Facility Specific Requirements:
- Must have the capacity and desire to learn the following software tools required to perform your duties:Teamcenter PLM (Engineering Document Control)
JD Edwards (Enterprise Resource Planning)
OnBase (Non-Engineering Document Control)
Engineering Service Request (App Engineering Project Tracking and Management)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
