Primary Objective: Work directly with staff, parents, program participants, and other staff to deliver quality educational services in the Walter Ambrose Family Center program
Essential Functions:
- The program operates between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
- Work directly with the staff, parents, and children in the provision of developmentally appropriate educational services to meet the needs of preschoolers
- Teach 2 - 5-year-old students in an accredited center using the Project Construct methodology
- Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental stages and needs of young children and support them in a gentle and nurturing way
- Participate as a member of our community and teaching team in which collaboration, dialogue, and exchange are practiced values
- Learn the technology required to document the experiences of children and adults as well as support the documentation of student/classroom experiences
- Value parents as important partners in the work of the school by maintaining frequent contact and having the ability to work with them in the classroom
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, Head Start, Licensing, Missouri Accreditation, and Board policies
- Monitor classroom
- Assist the teacher as needed

- Other duties as assigned
Education: Must hold (1) a child development associate’s degree, (2) an associate’s degree in early childhood, or (3) sixty college credit hours with a minimum of three credit hours in early childhood, child development, or child/family-related courses and experience working in a program with young children and their families for any classroom with more than ten children
Experience: Knowledge of Reggio Emilia philosophy and Project Construct practice, desired
