Egan Company is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Controls Engineer at our Champlin, MN facility. In this exciting role within our Process & Manufacturing Controls team, you will be designing, programming and servicing automated controls systems for a variety of industrial clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer a variety of industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair customers’ control systems as required.
• Programming of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Servos and VFDs.
• Understand UL 508A control panel construction and design requirements.
• Support sales by providing estimates controls hardware costs and labor hours for potential projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS in Automation, Controls, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study preferred; willing to look at Associates degree

- The ideal candidate will come from an Industrial Process Controls experience - food processing, beverage, dairy processing, etc.

- 3+ years' experience with PLC/HMI programming - Program a wide array of industry leader’s PLC, HMI, MSSQL, VBA or C#, and VFDs. Familiarity with a variety of platforms that utilize Rockwell control platforms is highly preferred.

- Knowledge of HMI - Ignition is nice to have

• Understand UL 508A control panel construction/design requirements
• Approximately 5-10% travel out of state/overnight, otherwise the majority of travel is local (roughly 20% of time will be spent at customers; the rest is predominantly work from home)
