Preferred:

Recent college graduate with a Finance or Accounting degree (Bachelors or Associates), excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills; driven, desire to learn, and a positive attitude.


What You Will Do:

This position will sit in our Roseland, NJ office and currently offers a hybrid remote work opportunity.

The individual in this role will be trained on how to review, edit and prepare client bills. The individual in this role handles routine client billing and less complex client matter portfolios. The individual will develop strong collaborative relationships with client accounting staff and attorneys throughout full cycle of client billing. Excellent client service and satisfaction are required in all areas of the position.

Essential Job Requirements – College graduates will receive training in:

  • Learning the billing cycle for a law firm. The individual establishes, fosters, and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with attorneys and business services personnel to ensure compliance with both attorney and client billing specifications; supports all billing processes from engagement to bill posting with tact and diplomacy.
  • Understanding outside counsel guidelines and client fee arrangements, and ensure preparation of bills in accordance to the same; escalate potential issues in complying with same.
  • Assisting billing staff in processing edits and ensuring time entries comply with firm, attorney and client standards.
  • Collaborating with Client onboarding manager to update appropriate fields of client information, according to client billing guidelines. Takes accountability for successful submission and troubleshooting issues. Responding to inquiries relating to billing and payment information; with assistance and guidance prepares ad hoc reports upon request.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to focus attention on a task for some length of time.
  • Exercises good judgment and decision making in performing essential function of position.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business discipline preferred.

  • Strong initiative to proactively increase value to the position.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large amounts of data.
  • Ability to organize time, prioritizes workload effectively, and works independently.
  • Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly

Office Location: Roseland, NJ

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
