D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Accounting Manager- Financial Reporting. The right candidate will perform a variety of accounting functions with limited supervision by being able to identify issues, research, and develop solutions by applying a strong understanding of accounting principles. Collaborate in a team environment to produce financial reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Prepare month-end and quarter-end close spreadsheets
• Prepare weekly operational reports for management
• Prepare quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist with the quarterly preparation of the 10Q/10K documents
• Prepare audit leads and supporting schedules
• Update the consolidated warranty accrual model
• Document Income Statement and Balance Sheet account fluctuation analyses
• Research and report on the financial performance of industry competitors
• Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
• Interface with internal and external auditors and provide assistance as required
• Document and adhere to internal control procedures
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
• Three to four years of related experience and/or training
• Understanding and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Solid understanding of financial statements and internal controls
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers (clerical to executive management)
• Initiative and ability to work with limited direction
• Must successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• Big 4 accounting experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience preferred
• Homebuilding industry experience using JD Edwards, especially G/L, is a plus
