CDL Yard Driver

Description:

In Propak Logistics Salt Lake City a Yard Driver makes sure everything is in working order within the yard. Usually the Yard Driver moves trailers from door to door amongst other responsibilities. It is a dynamic fast paced environment. Will usually work independently within a team. We are looking for a person to join our team full time, 40 to 44 hours a week and/or occasional overtime. Schedule (s)

2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12:00am

Duties:

· Make sure of chocking the wheels

· Move trailers from door to door

· Inspect vehicles tires, lights, breaks, gas and oil

· Clock in and out on time every day

· Pull trailers to get loaded and unloaded

· Be able to comply with daily inspection

· Fill forms accurately including driver logs

· Follow all safety policies and procedures

· Able to communicate effectively

· Do yard checks

· Operate safely

· Assist warehouse needs if there is downtime

· Be accountable for actions taken

· Work well with others

Duties may vary. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

· Must be 18 years or older

· Be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally

· Possess CDL class A for at least a year

· Be able to read English. (This is required in order to perform duties effectively.)

· 1-year experience

o The experience may have been gained in paid as well as volunteer positions.

· Be able to comply with dress code:

· Available at least 44 hours a week and on occasions overtime.

· Must pass Propak’s certification

· Be willing to undergo a background check

o We are a background friendly company. Please don’t be afraid to apply if you have bumps on your background. We are mostly looking for honesty in the background applications.

· Be willing to undergo a drug test

Compensation: $24.00-27.00/hr
