Job description

An Altoona man with a moderate intellectual disability is seeking to hire a Direct Support Professional to provide support to him in his home and in the community.

He is a kind and funny man in his sixties who enjoys classic cars and Elvis. He likes to go to car shows, outdoor concerts, and Curve Games. He is open to trying new activities. He needs assistance cooking dinner, cleaning his apartment, and doing laundry. He also needs assistance and reminders to shave and to properly clean his dentures.

This position is not private pay, as it is funded through the Office of Developmental Programs Waiver System. PA State Background Clearances are required for all potential candidates. Candidates who have not resided in PA for 2 years are required to obtain FBI Fingerprint Clearances.

Pay: $17.00 to $19.92 per hour depending upon experience.

Days and Times: Every other Sat and Sun 4pm-8pm.
